Frequently Asked Questions
HOMEInvestor RelationsFrequently Asked Questions
- Please describe the founding of the company.
- Inspired by the latest biological research on RNA at Yale University in the United States in the early 2000s, Shingo Nakamura, the founder of our company, launched a project aiming to realize the discovery of small molecule drugs targeting messenger RNAs (mRNAs) in 2004 while he was working for Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (hereinafter “Takeda”). He resigned from Takeda in 2011 with the research outcomes inherited from Takeda, and then redeveloped the fundamental technology to realize the said drug discovery, including statistical-mechanical theory and thermodynamic theory to study RNA structure based on the latest science, and computational software to apply these theories to the analysis. Shingo has also gained practical business experiences in pharmaceutical business, pharmaceutical manufacturing, venture business investment, and management. He established Veritas In Silico Inc. in November 2016 with the belief that providing “mRNA-targeted small molecule drug discovery” to a wide range of pharmaceutical companies will lead to solutions to common issues in the pharmaceutical industry.
